In this session, Scott Massey will explore how Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) and AI automation are shaping the next generation of farming—both in rural and urban settings. Drawing from his NASA technology development experiences at Purdue University and real-world deployments globally, Scott will present a vision for “Future Fields” where container farms and vertical grow systems empower communities, schools, and even military bases to grow fresh produce at the point of consumption.

He’ll highlight how these systems combat nutrition insecurity, create ag-based jobs, and generate new markets for traditional row crop farmers through bioresin-based compostable packaging.
