Description

According to Texas A&M University's Natural Resources Institute, Texas is home to eight of the 15 fastest-growing cities in the U.S. Between 1997 and 2022, its population surged 55% adding 11 million residents--nearly 1,100 per day. This explosive growth comes at a cost: from 2017 to 2022, Texas saw 1.8 million acres of working lands converted to non-agricultural uses, putting immense pressure on wildlife and water resources. Recognizing the deep interconnectivity of these challenges, sessions throughout the day will feature expert-led deep dives into conservation strategies and solutions that can extend beyond the conference.
