Speaker Bio
Bill Methenitis is an international trade lawyer with a focus on tariff and tax planing.  He has more than 40 years experience counseling businesses on import and export regimes, tariff and indirect tax planning, international acquisitions, joint ventures, and plant location projects.  He has extensive experience with US duty drawback, Foreign Trade Zones and customs valuation planning.  
Bill has held a number of significant trade and tax positions both in the US and internationally.  He has been appointed by the International Chamber of Commerce as an observer to the WTO Technical Committee on Customs Valuation, and serves on the Focus Group on Convergence of Transfer Pricing and Customs Valuation established by the OECD and the World Customs Organization.  He has served as a committee chair and a member of the Council of the State Bar of Texas Tax Section, and has chaired working groups for the ABA Customs Law Committee.  
He is a graduate of the University of Texas, and SMU Law School.  Prior to joing Charter Brokerage, Bill was a principal at EY, where he led EY's Global Trade practice.
