Sanjeev Gordhan is a venture capital investor and entrepreneur with a deep passion for space technology and deep-tech innovation. As a General Partner at Type One Ventures, he focuses on investing in groundbreaking companies pushing the boundaries of space exploration, aerospace, and frontier technologies.
Sanjeev’s journey into space investment began in 2016, when he played a pivotal role in enabling private pension investments in early-stage space ventures. Since then, he has dedicated himself to backing visionary entrepreneurs in the space and deep-tech sectors, leveraging his expertise to help transform cutting-edge ideas into commercially viable businesses. His portfolio spans orbital infrastructure, in-Space Manufacturing, AI, and next-generation Robotics.
With a background in scaling businesses and operational strategy, Sanjeev brings a unique perspective to space investing. Before joining Type One Ventures, he served as Venture Director at Newable Ventures, where he oversaw investments in UK-based innovation companies, including early-stage space startups. He has also worked as a strategic adviser in venture capital, specialising in EIS and VCT investments for deep-tech and space-related enterprises.
Sanjeev holds an Executive MBA from Cass Business School, where he conducted research on entrepreneurial behaviors and their impact on startup success. He is an active board member at NorthInvest and serves on the Enterprise Investment Scheme Association committee, championing policies that support innovation-led businesses.
