Matt Howerton is a native Texan and political communications professional who is driven by his passion to uphold & defend the U.S. Constitution. Having served on dozens of campaigns and as staff for the 115th Congress, Matt brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to American Promise in the role of Political Manager. A Houston native, Matt got his start as an intern for Ted Cruz in 2012 before serving as campaign staff for Greg Abbott in 2014. In 2016, Matt was selected as one of the Leadership Institute's Top 20 Youth Directors for his role in Mike Johnson's first congressional campaign. Matt went on to serve as a congressional staffer before starting his political consulting business in 2018. Over the past 7 years, Matt's electoral assists include successful campaigns for state senate, state house, city council, county commission, and school board.
