Sam Stone joined the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation as Conservation Program Manager in December 2024. He previously worked for the Border Affairs Unit of The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, clerked with the Texas House Committee on Natural Resources, and holds a Master's Degree in Public Affairs from the LBJ School at the University of Texas at Austin. His academic journey began with a focus on Range and Wildlife Management with the Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute at A&M Kingsville, and he went on to earn both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from the Borderlands Research Institute at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, where he gained extensive field experience in conservation and wildlife management. He is a fifth generation Texan and an avid outdoorsman.
