He is a founding member and President of the Ibero-American Network of Smart Tourist Destinations. Founder and Member of the Council for the Integral Development of Tequila (CODIT) and has achieved the distinction of Tequila, Jalisco, as the First Smart Tourism Destination in Latin America by SEGITTUR. Federico is Uruguayan-Mexican. Agronomist Engineer, Master Business Administration (MBA) with specialization in Marketing and has a PhD in CSR, Innovation and Sustainability with thesis in economic, social and environmental complexity. Ted Speaker at Palacio de Minería TEDX, has written 4 books on Tequila as a smart destination; its agro-industrial export chain and the legacy of Tequila for Mexico.
With extensive experience in projects throughout Latin America, expert in Intelligent Tourism Destinations (ITD) and Sustainability.His experience of more than 30 years in international organizations has been in Uruguay, Mexico and Washington DC, working for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), CEMLA and UNIDO. He has been an advisor to regional governments in Mexico for the implementation of DTI, the Council for the Integral Development of Tequila and Director of the Tequila Route. At the Inter-American Development Bank he has been Coordinator of the Quality, Tourism, Franchising and Family Business Clusters. His executive experience includes being Director of Grupo JB (José Cuervo). He currently serves as an advisor to companies and boards of directors. He is an Expert Contributor in Mexico Business since 2021, was Nominated 2022 and 2023 - Latin American Leaders Awards as one of the leaders in development in Latin America and was Jury for the selection of The Best Villages 2022 and 2023 by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
