Jerry Cotter, P.E. Program Director for the Water Engineering Research Center at the University of Texas at Arlington
Jerry is the Program Director for the newly established Water Engineering Research Center (WERC) at the University of Texas at Arlington. The WERC will serve the region as a hub of research activities aimed at increasing resiliency and meeting the water resource challenges of the region. He recently retired as Chief of Water Resources for the Fort Worth District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers which manages and conducts investigations for 25 flood control reservoirs, levee systems across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and numerous flood mitigation projects within the district. Jerry has a broad range of experience, including 34 years with the federal government and 10 years in the private sector. He has worked on a variety of infrastructure projects, including transportation, water, and wastewater as well as numerous studies within the region and nationally.
