Brittani Flowers is the President and CEO of the Bayou Preservation Association (BPA), an organization dedicated to the protection, restoration, and sustainable management of the 22 bayous and waterways in the Greater Houston region. With over 15 years of experience in environmental advocacy, policy, and urban planning, Brittani has been instrumental in advancing BPA’s mission of preserving these vital ecosystems while fostering community engagement and education.
Brittani holds a graduate degree in Urban Planning and Environmental Policy from Texas Southern University, where she developed a strong foundation in sustainable development and environmental justice. During her studies, she worked closely with environmental justice leaders, serving as a youth advocate and traveling internationally to present at the Conference of Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. These experiences shaped her understanding of global environmental issues and reinforced her commitment to addressing the disproportionate impacts of environmental degradation on marginalized communities.

She has also championed initiatives focused on improving public access to green spaces, enhancing environmental education, and promoting resilience in vulnerable communities. Under Brittani’s leadership, BPA has become an advocate for equitable environmental solutions, prioritizing the voices of underserved communities that are most impacted by pollution, flooding, and climate change. Her work emphasizes collaboration, education, and grassroots engagement as essential tools for creating long-term, sustainable solutions for the region’s challenges.
