Yvette Stewart joined Audubon Texas in 2018 as an educator at the Mitchell Lake Audubon Center in San Antonio. Since then, she has grown with the organization and her newest role is the Community Outreach Manager for the Audubon Texas State office of National Audubon Society. Her priority project is the Texas Leaders in Conservation (TLC) program. The goal of TLC is to introduce students to careers and experiences in the great outdoors, focused on connection, leadership, and conservation action. Yvette is now expanding the focus of TLC to work with college aged students and early career professionals to get firsthand experience in the non-profit sector, in partnership with other statewide organizations. Yvette comes to Audubon Texas with a degree in Wildlife and Conservation Biology from the University of Rhode Island and has recently attained her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Texas. Yvette is a former AmeriCorps service member, a passionate birder, and a lover of all creatures, from tiny spiders to soaring eagles. Yvette is most happy when she’s helping people to learn and grow in the great outdoors!
