Dr. Harold "Skip" York is the Chief Energy Strategist at Turner Mason & Company, an energy consulting and advisory firm. He is responsible for looking at strategic directions in the energy industry, with specific expertise in global oil and gas asset portfolio optimization and developing viable business models for new energy companies.
Skip is a nonresident fellow at the Center for Energy Studies in the Baker Institute for Public Policy at Rice University. He also is an adjunct professor in the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Wyoming.
Skip has split his career between operating companies, such as BHP, ExxonMobil, and Reliant Energy, and consulting roles at Wood Mackenzie, Charles River Associate, and McKinsey & Company.  He earned his PhD in Economics from the University of Virginia and did post-graduate work at the International Institute of Applied Systems Analysis in Vienna, Austria. He holds Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Wyoming where he also was named Energy Alumni of the Year.
