Stephanie Arcusa is a climate and earth physical scientist specializing in climate mitigation and carbon management. With expertise spanning carbon accounting, negative emissions technologies, and the certification of carbon sequestration, she focuses on the socio-economic and technological frameworks that enable a diverse, low-carbon energy ecosystem. Dr. Arcusa’s research explores how a policy like a carbon storage obligation can integrate various energy solutions and accelerate deep decarbonization.
She holds a Ph.D. in climate and environmental change from Northern Arizona University, a master’s degree in climate science from the University of Bern, Switzerland, and a bachelor’s degree in earth sciences from University College Cork, Ireland. Her work has been published in journals such as Climate Policy, Mitigation and Adaptation Strategies for Global Change, and Earth System Science Data, and she was a chapter co-author for The State of Carbon Dioxide Removal – Second Edition.
