Speaker Bio
Matt Craig is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas and received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Cincinnati (go Bearcats!) and a Masters in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington (Go Mavericks!).
He serves as Transportation Deputy Practice Leader for Halff Associates, where he has been employed for over 40 years. His early years at Halff included work in environmental, public works, water/wastewater and land development projects while his last 30 years have focused on transportation.
Following the legacy of Dr. Albert Halff, Matt strongly believes it is a civic, social and moral duty to volunteer where the need calls. He serves on the Greater Dallas Planning Council board and CoChairs its Environment and Natural Resources Task Force. He is honored to serve as 2025 Board Chair of the Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce. He has also served for 30 years on the Board of Directors of the Rockett Special Utility District in northern Ellis County, seeing it grow from 2000 water customers to now nearly 15,000. And ask him about Engineers Without Borders, where he serves as mentor and Engineer in Charge for the UTA student chapter and for the North Texas Professional Chapter, which just returned from Bolivia building a water system for a rural indigenous community.
